On an event day the controls are wider, tighter and enforced harder than the signage suggests on any other morning of the week. A two-up two-down has a kitchen that was never designed to be one, so the run is short, the ceiling is low and every millimetre of depth gets argued over. The Tower Gardens estate is a conservation area with original joinery - the larder recess is rarely square, so template it as a bespoke shape rather than cutting a rectangle.

Matchdays and events at the stadium close roads, suspend bays and put controlled parking zones in force across the surrounding streets, so a fitting day that lands on a fixture is effectively a lost day. Alcove pieces get cut oversize on both scribe edges, with the true wall angles carried on the template drawing rather than assumed. Units fixed and packed level over the sloping floor, walls replastered and dry at their final thickness (tiling and splashbacks go on after the worktop, never before), and the sink, tap and hob physically on site, with a Belfast sink built in and set at its finished height. Where ownership is split across a building, the common parts belong to someone else and the carry route is negotiated rather than assumed. The template happens when the units are in, fixed and level, whoever is fitting them. No stone is cut from a plan.
