Google reviews

5.0 from 23 reviews

We do not reprint customer quotes on our own website. Anyone can type those. We publish the aggregate, link you to the platform that holds the reviews, and tell you what is genuinely worth judging a worktop company on.

Read them on Google

The reviews live on Google, where we cannot edit or remove them. That is the point of linking out rather than copying them across.

Straight answer

We are not going to reprint reviews on our own website

Anyone can type a five-star quote onto a page and put a first name under it. There is no way for you to tell a real one from an invented one, which makes the whole format worthless.

So we do the one thing that is actually verifiable: we publish the aggregate figure, and we send you to the platform that holds the reviews. 23 reviews at 5.0 is a modest number and we would rather say so than dress it up. It is what 15+ years of not chasing reviews very hard looks like.

Read them in full, in the order Google sorts them, with the dates attached. Then use the checklist further down this page, because the useful questions about a worktop company are not answered by star ratings at all.

How we ask

Four rules we run the review request under

How a company collects reviews tells you more than the score does. These are ours, so you know what the number in front of you is worth.

We ask once, after handover

The request goes out after the kitchen is finished, cleaned down and back in use, rather than on installation day while somebody is still hoovering up dust. If you would rather not, that is the end of it. We do not chase.

Nothing is offered in return

No discount, no prize draw, no free sink, no money off the balance. An incentivised review is worth nothing to you as a buyer, and offering one breaches Google’s policies as well as UK consumer law.

Everybody gets asked, not just the happy ones

We do not screen customers before we ask, and we do not route unhappy people to a private form instead of the public profile. Review gating is the most common trick in this trade and it is why some five-star profiles mean nothing.

We never write them and never edit them

Every review on the profile was posted by the customer, from their own account, and stays exactly as they wrote it. We cannot delete a bad one and would not want the ability to.

If we have fitted your kitchen and something is not right, we would far rather you rang us than reviewed us. Call +44 7830 847489 and we will come and look at it. The review can wait until after we have fixed it, and it should say what actually happened.

Better than a star rating

Six things worth judging any worktop company on

Take this list to us and to whoever else is quoting. It is written to be used against us as much as for us.

01

How fast the first reply comes back

Send a sample request or a set of plans and time it. A company that is slow before it has your money is not going to get quicker afterwards. This is the cheapest test you can run on any worktop firm, including us.

02

Whether the quote itemises anything

Ask for the price broken down: square metres, material band, each cut-out, each edge run, each join, upstands. A single total with no working is a number that can move later. An itemised quote is one you can compare like for like against anyone else.

03

Whether they will ever tell you no

Ask for the cheaper slab that does the same job. Ask whether a 400mm unsupported overhang really needs steel. A company that agrees with everything is selling; a company that occasionally talks you out of something is advising.

04

Who is actually coming to your house

Ask straight out whether the templater, the fabricator and the fitter work for the same business. Most of the trade subcontracts at least one of the three, and that is where information gets lost between the measurement and the finished top.

05

What they say about joins before you ask

A good firm tells you where the joins will fall, and why, at quote stage. A visible join is typically 2–3mm. If nobody mentions joins until installation day, that is not because there are none.

06

What the guarantee actually covers

Not the headline number, but the exclusions and who they actually cover. Ours are two separate guarantees: 25 years on the material for residential installations, and 5 years on our workmanship on every kitchen we fit. Ask any company to show you theirs in writing before you pay a deposit.

What we will tell you without being asked

  • Where every join falls, and why it is there
  • Which cheaper colours behave the same as the expensive one you picked
  • That the lead time is 3–7 working days from template, not "a couple of weeks"
  • What your units need to be like before we can template
  • Whether an overhang needs steel under it
  • What the guarantee does not cover
