Who we are
Worktop Worx Ltd supplies, fabricates and installs kitchen worktops across London and the Home Counties. For the purposes of UK GDPR we are the data controller for the information described in this policy.
You can reach us at info@worktopworx.co.uk or +44 7830 847489 about anything on this page.
ACTION: add company registration number, registered office address and VAT number here.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us: name, email address, telephone number and postcode.
- Details about the job: measurements, plans, drawings or photographs of your kitchen, the surface and finishes you are considering, and your intended timescale.
- Order and payment records where you place an order, including the address we deliver or install at.
- Correspondence between us, including emails, WhatsApp messages and notes from site visits.
- Basic technical information from your browser when you use this website.
Why we hold it, and our lawful basis
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation: necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract.
- To carry out work you have instructed, including templating, fabrication, delivery and installation: performance of a contract.
- To meet our legal obligations, including keeping accounting records: legal obligation.
- To handle guarantee claims, which means keeping a record of what was fitted and when: legitimate interests, and necessary to honour the guarantee.
- To send you information about our services where you have asked us to: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become orders are kept for up to two years, so that we can pick up a conversation if you come back to us, and then deleted.
Records relating to completed installations are kept for the life of the longer guarantee (currently 25 years for materials) because we cannot honour a claim without knowing what we fitted. Financial records are kept for six years as required by HMRC.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only where it is needed to do the work: with the suppliers who provide your slab, with delivery contractors where relevant, and with our accountants and professional advisers.
Where a supplier or service provider processes data on our behalf, they are bound to use it only on our instructions.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask us to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask for it in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, email info@worktopworx.co.uk. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
