Where the kitchen swallows the whole slab there is no offcut worth having, and the vanity then has to be priced against material bought for itself. Ordered later, the batch match is a gamble rather than a plan.

How the slab has been stored is worth telling us, because stone kept flat is not stone off a rack. The workmanship guarantee is the same either way. It does not extend to a material we did not supply. Delivery to the workshop has to be arranged and dated, since nothing is nested until it is there. Extension kitchens are usually specified long before they are buildable, so the run lengths on the drawing and the run lengths in the room are different numbers. It usually means the bathroom is decided late, after the kitchen, and by then the offcut that would have suited it has gone. Repeat bathrooms come cheaper per top, not per square metre.
