North Ealing kitchens
What the kitchens here are actually like
Wide doors, generous rooms and somewhere to park mean the joins that go in are the ones we choose, not the ones the building forces. The fitting day is planned backwards from all of it, before the first piece comes off the van. Sink and hob seated and sealed before we go.
Substantial houses with the kitchen at the rear and a separate utility behind it. Islands with waterfall ends, and increasingly a second sink and a dedicated prep zone away from the main run.
The Hanger Lane gyratory is the only real obstacle on the way in. Waterfall ends are cut and dry-assembled in the workshop, because a mitred external corner is not something you fix on site in someone's kitchen.
These houses usually sit in their own grounds with a long approach, so the carry from van to door is longer than anything inside the building. What costs time is the distance from where the van can park to the door, often down a long drive or across gravel, so we plan the carry with enough hands and board the route where it crosses gravel or lawn. Walked, measured, protected, then lifted.
The stock behind these kitchens runs to Large Edwardian detached, 1930s detached, interwar semi and period conversion flat. A quote that ignores which one you have is guessing.
True everywhere
Worktop installation, in short
- One visit. A straightforward run is a morning; an island and splashbacks take most of the day.
- Every piece is carried in by hand, and stone does not bend.
- We seat and seal the sink and hob. We do not connect water, waste, gas or electrics.
- Floors and units are protected before anything comes through the door.
Covered on our west London run. Fitted 3–7 working days from template.

Getting stone into the room
Wide roads with garages and drives on most properties, so parking is rarely a problem.

The building, and what it does to the job
The carry distance from the van to the door, which is often long enough that the piece has to be rested and re-gripped part way.

What gets asked for here
A second kitchen or a kitchenette in an annexe is a small job with the same fixed template, fabrication and fitting lines as a large one. The fitting day is scheduled to suit that rather than to suit the diary. One visit, done properly.
This is one of the three jobs that come up most here, behind worktop fabrication. It is the same template visit, the same workshop and the same installers either way.

Getting stone into a North Ealing kitchen
Wide roads with garages and drives on most properties, so parking is rarely a problem. The Hanger Lane gyratory is the only real obstacle on the way in.
Tell us what the approach looks like when you book the template and it gets built into the day rather than discovered on it. Where the route is genuinely tight, it changes how the pieces are cut, which is a fabrication decision rather than a delivery one.
3–7 working days
From template to fitted, working days from template. The same on this patch as every other.

Questions
Worktop installation in North Ealing
If yours is not here, ring and ask. You get a straight answer rather than a call-back from a salesperson.
Do you actually work in North Ealing, or just list it?
Yes. North Ealing is on the patch, and the postcodes we work here are W5. It is worked on our west London run, along with the rest of Ealing. Gravel and block paving both look like hard standing and neither takes a loaded trolley, so the run from tail lift to door gets boarded. A van that has to move mid-fit costs the best part of an hour and takes a man off the tools to do it. It is why the arrival time is what it is. We template in your kitchen and fit in your kitchen, so there is nothing to visit and nothing to collect.
What is different about worktop installation in North Ealing?
Arts and Crafts houses have deep eaves, low windows and inglenook recesses, so the kitchen has more corners and reveals than its floor area suggests. Access through the property is usually the simplest of any archetype, with wide doors and generous rooms, so we can often carry a full-length piece straight in without a planned join. That is the shape of the day. Waterfall ends are cut and dry-assembled in the workshop, because a mitred external corner is not something you fix on site in someone's kitchen.
Is access a problem in North Ealing?
Wide roads with garages and drives on most properties, so parking is rarely a problem. The Hanger Lane gyratory is the only real obstacle on the way in. Where the van stands level with the front of the house a piece gets handled twice instead of five times, and stone breaks on handling rather than on the road. Finding it out on the morning costs the whole slot, because there is no second route to fall back on. That is what the morning is planned around.
Do you do much worktop installation around North Ealing?
It is one of the three we do most here, behind worktop fabrication. Same template visit, same workshop, same installers either way. A second kitchen or a kitchenette in an annexe is a small job with the same fixed template, fabrication and fitting lines as a large one. The fitting day is scheduled to suit that rather than to suit the diary. One visit, done properly. Extended households run kitchens hard, and that pushes the specification towards granite or sintered stone rather than a light quartz. One visit, with the sink and hob seated and sealed before we leave. The prep list is not optional.
What decides the price of a worktop in North Ealing?
If the island is a few hundred millimetres longer than the usable length of a slab, a second slab gets bought to gain that overhang, and the whole slab is paid for rather than the part used. Joins are pulled with suction clamps and finished flush, then colour-matched, which is the last thing done rather than the first. Dry-lay first, always. Material is £110-£550 per square metre supply only, and templating, fabrication and fitting are quoted on their own lines.
What do I need to sort out first?
Alcove pieces get cut oversize on both scribe edges, with the true wall angles carried on the template drawing rather than assumed. Rushing that is what leaves a gap you look at every morning for fifteen years. Dry-lay, mark, cut, then bond. Give us the hardest, shortest approach to the door you can, clear of parked cars, and warn us of any soft ground, steps or gravel on the route. The householder is normally on site at template, and that is the right time to settle sink position, tap centres and overhang rather than agree them by email. Floors and units are protected before anything comes through the door, communal or otherwise. Access for the whole slot, or a different day.
