Where the drive is shared, the half-hour the van spends in the way is agreed with the neighbour in advance rather than apologised for at the time. A commercial frontage rarely has anywhere to stop, so the unload is timed rather than assumed and the counter pieces come off first. Whoever holds the lease usually holds the loading bay. The sink and hob are lifted out with the old top and kept aside if you are reusing them. On a replacement the old top comes off in the morning and the new stone is down and sealed the same day. Every run, cut-out, edge, join and groove set is a line, which is what makes it comparable with anyone else’s. Legs bottoming out on hard concrete or an uneven screed mean the tops of the carcasses are not one plane, and that is picked up at template rather than on fitting day. A lobby wall that leans shows itself along the back return, so that edge is cut to the line the wall actually takes. Stone will not straighten joinery, and it will not forgive it either.
