A controlled parking zone means either a visitor permit sorted in advance or a suspended bay, and a suspension is applied for days ahead rather than on the morning. A tap under a window board still needs room for its handle to lift, which is checked at the template. Where the sink and the hob face each other across the aisle, everything carried between them crosses the walkway, and that is the one movement the shape cannot design out. The return between the high counter and the low shelf never nests neatly, and it is what decides how much slab the desk swallows. Shelf depth is set by the knee space underneath it.

Grooves and an undermounted bowl are usually specified together, since the grooves are run to the bowl edge. A groove set is its own item on the quote rather than something rolled in with the sink cut-out. A groove set needs a clear stretch of worktop beside the bowl, so it competes with the run for length instead of being free surface. Chimney breasts are often taken out at ground level and left standing above, so the middle of the run is newer wall than the two ends of it. A reception counter answers to the building it stands in more than to the drawing, because it is fabricated to a carcass somebody else has already built and fixed.
