Yes. Becontree Heath is on the patch, and the postcodes we work here are RM8, RM10. It is worked on our east London run, along with the rest of Barking and Dagenham. A front drive is the best thing that can happen to a fitting day, because the tail lift comes down within a few metres of the door and nothing is on a clock. We aim for the first slot of the day where parking is tight, because that is when the street is emptiest. The day is built around that window. We template in your kitchen and fit in your kitchen, so there is nothing to visit and nothing to collect.

Rear access through a garden or a shared path means long pieces can usually come in whole from the back. Deck access or a single narrow staircase with tight half-landings means long pieces get walked up on edge, and the landing turn is checked before we commit. Walked, measured, protected, then lifted. The private 1930s semis here have deeper rooms than the estate houses next door, so we do not assume the standard Becontree layout when quoting.

Main roads through here are busy and junction-heavy, but the side streets have driveways, dropped kerbs and side gates, so the actual unloading is usually done off the main route. Rear access usually lets us fit longer pieces whole, so the join count ends up decided by the slab rather than by the building. We walk the route with a tape and protect it end to end before the first piece is lifted. That is what the morning is planned around.

If the island is a few hundred millimetres longer than the usable length of a slab, a second slab gets bought to gain that overhang, and the whole slab is paid for rather than the part used. Joins are pulled with suction clamps and finished flush, then colour-matched, which is the last thing done rather than the first. Dry-lay first, always. Material is £110-£550 per square metre supply only, and templating, fabrication and fitting are quoted on their own lines.

Walls that bow along their length are the normal condition rather than the exception, and a straight-cut back edge will show a shadow gap at one end and touch at the other. Rushing that is what leaves a gap you look at every morning for fifteen years. Dry-lay, mark, cut, then bond. Reserve a space as close to the block entrance as possible and clear the landing and stairs of prams, bikes and stored items. Where a landlord or housing provider is involved there is a specification to meet and a process to follow, and both are settled before a date is offered. The fitting day is arranged with whoever can actually give us access for the whole slot. Access for the whole slot, or a different day.
