If you want the old top kept for a garage or a utility, say so and it stays on site. Where the drive is too short for the van the back end overhangs the footway, and a footway is a route people are using rather than spare space. Where the vanity is fitted alongside a kitchen the van is standing anyway, which is a good part of why the two rooms are worth ordering together. The plumber and the van rarely want the street on the same day.

It is quoted by area like the worktop, so a long run is a material line rather than a trim. An upstand covers the gap where the worktop meets a wall that is not flat, which is its real job.
