Wembley Park kitchens
What the kitchens here are actually like
Dense concrete and blockwork mean the wall cannot be chased back or packed out, so the stone carries the scribe. Pieces are cut, mitred, machined and dry-assembled on the bench before anything is loaded onto a van. Joins over gables, always.
The new towers are handover-spec galley or single-wall kitchens, 2.4m to 3.2m of run in one piece with an integrated hob and no space for an island, and the churn is mostly owners upgrading laminate to quartz within a fitted carcass they intend to keep.
Lift car depth decides whether a slab travels flat or on edge, and that measurement should be taken at survey, not on fitting day. Plan for narrow-format pieces here: the constraint is the lift and the flat door, not the kitchen, and a joint in the right place saves an aborted delivery. Peninsulas replacing a breakfast bar are common because the floorplans have nowhere else to add worktop.
Kitchens are compact and standardised, which makes the fixed template, fabrication and fitting lines a larger share of the total than the stone. Walls in the system-built blocks are concrete or panel and can bow noticeably over the length of a run, so the template picks up the real line and we cut the back edge to follow it rather than trimming on site with a grinder. Every join over a gable, clear of every cut-out.
The stock behind these kitchens runs to 2010s-2020s build-to-rent tower, 1960s Chalkhill-era blocks and 1930s semi on the fringes. A quote that ignores which one you have is guessing.
True everywhere
Worktop fabrication, in short
- Slabs come in finite sizes, so a long run needs a join.
- Joins sit over a cabinet gable, never spanning a gap or running through a cut-out.
- A finished join is typically 2–3mm, colour-matched and sanded flush.
- Your sink and hob are dry-fitted on the bench before dispatch.
Covered on our north west London run. Fitted 3–7 working days from template.

What gets asked for here
It is on the shortlist for this patch rather than at the top of it, because worktop replacement comes up more often. Nothing about the process differs between the two.

Getting stone into the room
Almost everything is above ground floor, so it is a booked service lift, a loading bay with a time limit, and a concierge who wants insurance paperwork before the slab leaves the van.
The lift has to be booked and blanketed before anything moves, and that booking needs to cover the old tops coming out as well as the new stone going in. The maximum piece length is fixed at drawing stage and every join is placed over a cabinet gable from there. Once the cut-outs are machined there is no going back on it.

Tell us what the approach looks like when you book the template and it gets built into the day rather than discovered on it. Where the route is genuinely tight, it changes how the pieces are cut, which is a fabrication decision rather than a delivery one.

Questions
Worktop fabrication in Wembley Park
If yours is not here, ring and ask. You get a straight answer rather than a call-back from a salesperson.
Is Wembley Park on your patch?
Yes. Wembley Park is on the patch, and the postcodes we work here are HA9. It is worked on our north west London run, along with the rest of Brent. A dedicated loading bay or service yard is the easiest arrangement in a managed building, provided the slot is booked and someone has the key to the shutter. It rarely changes what we cut, but it does change how the pieces are stacked and strapped for the run out. That is the last thing settled before dispatch. We template in your kitchen and fit in your kitchen, so there is nothing to visit and nothing to collect.
Why would worktop fabrication in Wembley Park be any different from anywhere else?
Kitchens are compact and standardised, which makes the fixed template, fabrication and fitting lines a larger share of the total than the stone. The notch around a boxed stack is machined with a radius, because a square internal corner there is where a top fails. Every join over a gable, clear of every cut-out. Plan for narrow-format pieces here: the constraint is the lift and the flat door, not the kitchen, and a joint in the right place saves an aborted delivery.
How would you get a worktop into a property in Wembley Park?
Almost everything is above ground floor, so it is a booked service lift, a loading bay with a time limit, and a concierge who wants insurance paperwork before the slab leaves the van. Lift car depth decides whether a slab travels flat or on edge, and that measurement should be taken at survey, not on fitting day. Where the lift will not take the longest run we design a join in rather than gamble, because a piece that will not go up has to go back on the van. So the nesting is worked to the measured route first and to the slab second. The drawing carries that decision through to the saw.
Do you do much worktop fabrication around Wembley Park?
It is one of the three we do most here, behind worktop replacement. Same template visit, same workshop, same installers either way. Handover-spec kitchens are square, plumb and predictable, which means the join count is honest and driven by run length rather than by the building. Pieces are dry-assembled and checked on the bench before anything is loaded. Proven on the bench before dispatch. Housings and integrated appliances are set out for a 38mm laminate top, so dropping to 20mm or 30mm stone changes the clearances and needs checking before anything is cut. So the nesting is planned around it rather than around a standard kitchen. Nested for the job in front of us.
What moves the number on a quote around here?
The catch with a galley is that both runs are seen end-on from the doorway, so any difference in overhang between the two reads immediately. The nest is laid out around that, with joins placed over cabinet gables and kept clear of every cut-out. The bench proves it before the van does. Material is £110-£550 per square metre supply only, and templating, fabrication and fitting are quoted on their own lines.
What needs to be ready before you come to Wembley Park?
A boxed soil stack or service riser in the corner of a run eats into the worktop depth and has to be scribed around rather than cut square. The template drawing carries the real geometry through to the saw, and the piece is machined to it rather than trimmed to it later. The drawing decides it, not the fitter. The stack boxing needs to be in its final form and the sink and hob on site before we machine, since a boxing that gets re-clad afterwards throws the notch out. Where ownership is split across a building, the common parts belong to someone else and the carry route is negotiated rather than assumed. The workshop works from the approved drawing, so whoever signs it off is signing off the join positions too. The approved drawing is the instruction.
