Reception counters and desks in Goodmayes

Yes. Goodmayes is on the patch, and the postcodes we work here are IG3. It is worked on our east London run, along with the rest of Redbridge. A shared drive is only useful if the neighbour is not the one parked behind the van, so we ask which side the standing belongs to before the date is set. Loading bays belonging to the building are booked by whoever holds the lease, and that is seldom whoever ordered the counter. The transaction shelf can wait on the van; the counter cannot. The workmanship guarantee is the same either way. It does not extend to a material we did not supply. Stone cut to somebody else’s drawing cannot usefully be re-cut to yours. Templating, fabrication and fitting are the same three lines whether the stone came from us or from you. The junction between the original room and the extension is the point to watch, because the two floors rarely sit at the same height. The apertures for cable and card readers are what changes between one desk and the next, and every change is a fresh drawing rather than a variation. One counter, one drawing, and no second bite at it.

There are only ever a few legal positions, and the one taken is furthest from the light. A finished join is typically two to three millimetres, colour-matched and sanded flush. A mitred join at a corner is a different job from a butt join along a run, and they are not priced the same. The two returns in a U are close to the same size and it is tempting to nest them side by side, except that the veining then mirrors across the room and reads as deliberate for the wrong reason. The return between the high counter and the low shelf never nests neatly, and it is what decides how much slab the desk swallows. Shelf depth is set by the knee space underneath it.
