Hounslow Central kitchens
What the kitchens here are actually like
Floors have usually settled towards the rear, so levelling means packing the units before the stone beds down. The fitting day is planned backwards from all of it, before the first piece comes off the van. Sink and hob seated and sealed before we go.
Compact galleys behind the High Street shops and in the terraces, plus a growing number of town-centre high-rise flats with straight 2.4m to 3m runs, integrated appliances and no island scope at all. Town-centre one-ways, bus lanes and pedestrianised stretches of the A315 High Street mean the loading window is narrow and enforced.
A flat over a shop is reached by a separate street door and a straight steep stair, and that stair is the whole access question. Access is generally through the front door and a short straight hall into the kitchen, which is a good deal kinder than a Victorian terrace, though rear access through a back garden or shared path is often the better route if it exists. The slow parts are slow for a reason.
What we are usually templating in is Victorian terrace, flat above shop, 1960s-1970s block and 2020s town-centre tower. That mix is why two jobs on the same road can run completely differently.
True everywhere
Worktop installation, in short
- One visit. A straightforward run is a morning; an island and splashbacks take most of the day.
- Every piece is carried in by hand, and stone does not bend.
- We seat and seal the sink and hob. We do not connect water, waste, gas or electrics.
- Floors and units are protected before anything comes through the door.
Covered on our west London run. Fitted 3–7 working days from template.
Victorian and Edwardian terraces
Getting stone into the room
Where the frontage is a clearway the unload happens away from the door and the carry gets longer, which is a crew and time question rather than a stone one. The fitting slot is set around it, which is why we ask about it when the date is booked and not before we leave the yard. The day is built around that window.

The building, and what it does to the job
Above-shop flats have no vehicle access to the door and no lift, so the honest answer is an external stair and enough hands to carry it.
The rear or shared-path access, which is often the only way to bring in a long piece without turning it in the hall.

What gets asked for here
It is on the shortlist for this patch rather than at the top of it, because worktop replacement comes up more often. Nothing about the process differs between the two.

Tell us what the approach looks like when you book the template and it gets built into the day rather than discovered on it. Where the route is genuinely tight, it changes how the pieces are cut, which is a fabrication decision rather than a delivery one.

Questions
Worktop installation in Hounslow Central
If yours is not here, ring and ask. You get a straight answer rather than a call-back from a salesperson.
Do you cover Hounslow Central?
Yes. Hounslow Central is on the patch, and the postcodes we work here are TW3. It is worked on our west London run, along with the rest of Hounslow. Loading exemptions on red routes are narrow, time-limited and heavily camera-enforced, so we plan around them rather than relying on them. The fitting slot is set around it, which is why we ask about it when the date is booked and not before we leave the yard. It is why the arrival time is what it is. We template in your kitchen and fit in your kitchen, so there is nothing to visit and nothing to collect.
Does the housing in Hounslow Central change how worktop installation works?
A flat over a shop is reached by a separate street door and a straight steep stair, and that stair is the whole access question. The fitting itself is about squaring up to walls that look modern and are not: block or breeze walls with a skim that has been patched over decades, so we still dry-lay and scribe rather than trust the template edge. That is the shape of the day. Above-shop flats have no vehicle access to the door and no lift, so the honest answer is an external stair and enough hands to carry it.
How does the stone actually reach a kitchen in Hounslow Central?
Town-centre one-ways, bus lanes and pedestrianised stretches of the A315 High Street mean the loading window is narrow and enforced. Stone goes up on edge, and it is the half-landing turn rather than the flight itself that sets the maximum piece. The fitting day is planned backwards from that point, before anything comes off the van. That is what the morning is planned around.
Is worktop installation common in Hounslow Central?
It is one of the three we do most here, behind worktop replacement. Same template visit, same workshop, same installers either way. Conversions put kitchens where the services could be made to reach rather than where they belong, so runs are short and interrupted. The fitting day is scheduled to suit that rather than to suit the diary. Sealed before we leave. In a converted house the flat entrance and the internal doorway are usually tighter than the communal stairs, and that is easy to overlook. One visit, with the sink and hob seated and sealed before we leave. The prep list is not optional.
Why do two Hounslow Central kitchens the same size price differently?
A galley puts the sink on one side and the hob on the other, which spreads the cut-outs across two pieces instead of weakening one. Joins are pulled with suction clamps and finished flush, then colour-matched, which is the last thing done rather than the first. Dry-lay first, always. Material is £110-£550 per square metre supply only, and templating, fabrication and fitting are quoted on their own lines.
What has to be finished before you can template?
A run can measure dead right at both ends and still belly out in the middle, which only appears once the template plots the intermediate points. Rushing that is what leaves a gap you look at every morning for fifteen years. Eased in, never forced. Unlock any rear or shared path gate and clear both the hall and the back approach so we can choose the better route on the day. Where ownership is split across a building, the common parts belong to someone else and the carry route is negotiated rather than assumed. A half-day of access is not a fitting day, and it is better to say so at booking than to find out at eleven. Access for the whole slot, or a different day.
