Belvedere kitchens
What the kitchens here are actually like
Kitchens in this stock are compact and reasonably square, which makes the fixed lines a larger share of the total than the material is. The fitting day is planned backwards from all of it, before the first piece comes off the van. One visit, our own installers.
Upper Belvedere has larger Victorian and interwar houses on the hill with room for a 3.5m run and an island once extended, while the lower streets toward the river are estate housing with compact galley kitchens. The split between the hill and the flat riverside changes the job entirely, establish which end of Belvedere you're quoting before assuming driveway access. A hard climb from the riverside up to the higher roads, with plenty of houses set above the pavement behind steps; the lower estates have parking courts and rear access paths.
Rear access through a garden or a shared path means long pieces can usually come in whole from the back. The stairwell half-landing is usually the tightest point on the whole route and it dictates the maximum piece. The slow parts are slow for a reason.
The buildings themselves are mostly Victorian villa, 1930s semi, postwar council estate and 1960s flats. A quote that ignores which one you have is guessing.
True everywhere
Worktop installation, in short
- One visit. A straightforward run is a morning; an island and splashbacks take most of the day.
- Every piece is carried in by hand, and stone does not bend.
- We seat and seal the sink and hob. We do not connect water, waste, gas or electrics.
- Floors and units are protected before anything comes through the door.
Covered on our south east London run. Fitted 3–7 working days from template.

What gets asked for here
Second or third on the list around here, after worktop replacement. Same visit, same bench, same crew, same lead time.
period detached houses and villas
The building, and what it does to the job
The stairwell half-landing turn, which is usually the tightest point on the whole route and dictates the maximum piece length.

Getting stone into the room
A drive that shelves towards the house needs the van chocked and the trolley controlled, since a loaded A-frame gathers speed quickly on a slope. A van that has to move mid-fit costs the best part of an hour and takes a man off the tools to do it. It is why the arrival time is what it is.

True everywhere, stated once
Installation is the day the templating either pays off or does not. Almost everything that makes it hard is a property of the building rather than the stone.
Access
Getting stone into a Belvedere kitchen
A hard climb from the riverside up to the higher roads, with plenty of houses set above the pavement behind steps; the lower estates have parking courts and rear access paths.
Tell us what the approach looks like when you book the template and it gets built into the day rather than discovered on it. Where the route is genuinely tight, it changes how the pieces are cut, which is a fabrication decision rather than a delivery one.
3–7 working days
From template to fitted, working days from template. The same on this patch as every other.

We come to you

Worktop installation in Belvedere
If yours is not here, ring and ask. You get a straight answer rather than a call-back from a salesperson.
Do you actually work in Belvedere, or just list it?
Yes. Belvedere is on the patch, and the postcodes we work here are DA17. It is worked on our south east London run, along with the rest of Bexley. A drive that shelves towards the house needs the van chocked and the trolley controlled, since a loaded A-frame gathers speed quickly on a slope. A van that has to move mid-fit costs the best part of an hour and takes a man off the tools to do it. It is why the arrival time is what it is. We template in your kitchen and fit in your kitchen, so there is nothing to visit and nothing to collect.
What is different about worktop installation in Belvedere?
Rear access through a garden or a shared path means long pieces can usually come in whole from the back. The stairwell half-landing is usually the tightest point on the whole route and it dictates the maximum piece. The slow parts are slow for a reason. The split between the hill and the flat riverside changes the job entirely, establish which end of Belvedere you're quoting before assuming driveway access.
Is access a problem in Belvedere?
A hard climb from the riverside up to the higher roads, with plenty of houses set above the pavement behind steps; the lower estates have parking courts and rear access paths. Garden routes carry their own hazards: a drain cover, a step up to a patio, wet decking, or a lawn that will not take a loaded trolley. We walk the route with a tape and protect it end to end before the first piece is lifted. That is what the morning is planned around.
Do you do much worktop installation around Belvedere?
It is one of the three we do most here, behind worktop replacement. Same template visit, same workshop, same installers either way. A worktop replacement between tenancies is a single-day job by design, because the flat is not earning while it is empty. The fitting day is scheduled to suit that rather than to suit the diary. One visit, done properly. Where kitchens turn over between tenancies the priority is a surface that survives a decade of being treated as a chopping board. Where the window is fixed there is no second day to fall back on, so the prep list matters more than usual. The prep list is not optional.
What decides the price of a worktop in Belvedere?
A galley puts the sink on one side and the hob on the other, which spreads the cut-outs across two pieces instead of weakening one. On the day that means dry-laying the whole layout first and only then pulling and bonding the joins. Dry-lay first, always. Material is £110-£550 per square metre supply only, and templating, fabrication and fitting are quoted on their own lines.
What do I need to sort out first?
A boxed soil stack or service riser in the corner of a run eats into the worktop depth and has to be scribed around rather than cut square. On the day it means dry-laying, marking, and cutting the scribe on site before anything is bonded. Dry-lay, mark, cut, then bond. Reserve a space as close to the block entrance as possible and clear the landing and stairs of prams, bikes and stored items. Where a landlord or housing provider is involved there is a specification to meet and a process to follow, and both are settled before a date is offered. The fitting day is arranged with whoever can actually give us access for the whole slot. Access for the whole slot, or a different day.
