Worktop installation in Brentford
Fitting day: protected route, back edges scribed to the real wall line, joins pulled flush, sink and hob sealed.
Brentford kitchens
What the kitchens here are actually like
Services coming up through a floor slab mean the island cannot move to suit the stone, so the stone is cut to suit the island. Almost everything that makes a fitting day hard is a property of the building rather than of the stone. Sink and hob seated and sealed before we go.
The High Street one-way system and the Great West Road make the approach straightforward, but the riverside blocks need goods-lift booking and long trolley routes up from an underground car park. Two completely different jobs in one place: narrow galleys of 2.4m to 3m in the old terraces off the High Street, and open-plan apartment kitchens in the new riverside blocks with peninsulas and waterfall ends specified by the developer.
Poured screed over steel decking can fall away across a long run, so level is checked across the whole room before anything is packed. The goods lift is often industrial and generous, but the flat entrance and any internal turn into a mezzanine or split level can be tighter than anything in the building, so we walk the full route with a tape before unloading. The slow parts are slow for a reason.
The stock behind these kitchens runs to Victorian terrace, canalside wharf conversion, 1960s block and 2020s riverside apartment. A quote that ignores which one you have is guessing.
True everywhere
Worktop installation, in short
- One visit. A straightforward run is a morning; an island and splashbacks take most of the day.
- Every piece is carried in by hand, and stone does not bend.
- We seat and seal the sink and hob. We do not connect water, waste, gas or electrics.
- Floors and units are protected before anything comes through the door.
Covered from the High Wycombe patch. Fitted 3–7 working days from template.

The building, and what it does to the job
Apartment specs here routinely ask for matching window boards and upstands from the same slab, so measure the sill runs at template or you are back for a second visit.
The flat's own doorway and any internal level change, which are usually tighter than the building's goods lift and easy to overlook.

What gets asked for here
Developer-fitted kitchens come with thin cam-lock carcasses, which are fine under laminate and want bracing before stone goes on them. One visit, with the sink and hob seated and sealed before we leave. Sealed before we leave.
The research on this patch puts this at the top of the list, above worktop replacement and worktop splashbacks & upstands.

Getting stone into a Brentford kitchen
The High Street one-way system and the Great West Road make the approach straightforward, but the riverside blocks need goods-lift booking and long trolley routes up from an underground car park.
Tell us what the approach looks like when you book the template and it gets built into the day rather than discovered on it. Where the route is genuinely tight, it changes how the pieces are cut, which is a fabrication decision rather than a delivery one.

Questions
Worktop installation in Brentford
If yours is not here, ring and ask. You get a straight answer rather than a call-back from a salesperson.
Do you cover Brentford?
Yes. Brentford is on the patch, and the postcodes we work here are TW8. It is run from the High Wycombe side, covering Buckinghamshire & Berkshire. A free-parking street with cars both sides can still leave the van forty metres away, and that distance is carry, not driving. We aim for the first slot of the day where parking is tight, because that is when the street is emptiest. The day is built around that window. We template in your kitchen and fit in your kitchen, so there is nothing to visit and nothing to collect.
Does the housing in Brentford change how worktop installation works?
Poured screed over steel decking can fall away across a long run, so level is checked across the whole room before anything is packed. The goods lift is often industrial and generous, but the flat entrance and any internal turn into a mezzanine or split level can be tighter than anything in the building, so we walk the full route with a tape before unloading. That is the shape of the day. Apartment specs here routinely ask for matching window boards and upstands from the same slab, so measure the sill runs at template or you are back for a second visit.
How does the stone actually reach a kitchen in Brentford?
The High Street one-way system and the Great West Road make the approach straightforward, but the riverside blocks need goods-lift booking and long trolley routes up from an underground car park. A car that takes 2.4m on the diagonal will not take a three-metre worktop however it is stood, and there is no trimming it on the landing. The fitting day is planned backwards from that point, before anything comes off the van. None of it is worked out on the doorstep. Tell us what the approach looks like when you book the template and it gets built into the day rather than discovered on it.
Is Brentford mostly worktop installation work for you?
Yes. On the research for this patch it is the first of the three jobs listed, ahead of worktop replacement and worktop splashbacks & upstands. Upgrading a builder-finish kitchen is mostly a swap, so the cost sits in the material choice rather than in the shape of the room. Where the window is fixed there is no second day to fall back on, so the prep list matters more than usual. Sealed before we leave. Developer-fitted kitchens come with thin cam-lock carcasses, which are fine under laminate and want bracing before stone goes on them. One visit, with the sink and hob seated and sealed before we leave. Sealed before we leave.
Why do two Brentford kitchens the same size price differently?
Because a peninsula is seen from both sides, the underside of any overhang gets the same edge treatment as the top, which is easy to leave out of a spec. A layout that has been packed and levelled run by run instead of to one datum shows as a step where two pieces meet. Dry-lay first, always. Material is £110-£550 per square metre supply only, and templating, fabrication and fitting are quoted on their own lines.
What has to be finished before you can template?
A low sill over the sink run is what decides between an upstand and stone dying into a window board, and there is often less clearance than an upstand is tall. Rushing that is what leaves a gap you look at every morning for fifteen years. It is the slow part of the day and it should be. Confirm loading bay access and lift booking with the building's management, and clear any furniture from the mezzanine stairs or split-level approach. Where the owner is not local, the decisions happen remotely, so photographs and a clear itemised drawing carry more weight than a showroom visit ever would. The fitting day is arranged with whoever can actually give us access for the whole slot. One visit, our own installers.
