Bigger houses on the forest side take proper kitchen-diners of 4m to 5m with a full island of 2.2m plus a separate utility, and specifications run to thicker mitred edges and matching window sills. Rear extensions with bifolds are common, which puts the island as the main working surface because the wall run is interrupted by glazing. Off-street parking means the van stays put all day, so tools, packers and the offcut we would rather have than not are all within reach. The same building type can arrive as a careful one-off kitchen or as a fast turnaround, and the honest answer is that they are priced differently. The fitting day is arranged with whoever can actually give us access for the whole slot. Protection goes down first.
