Is it right for you

What Blue Antique suits

At £217 per square metre supply only, Blue Antique is the 33rd of the 45 granite surfaces we fit, counting up from the cheapest. That is £40 above the £177 median for the family, so it is a dearer choice within its own material rather than across the catalogue. The next step down in granite is Azul Aran at £206, and the next up is Moak Black Sensa at £250.

Dried water spots and light scratching disappear into a grey more readily than into any other natural stone here, which is why it turns out to be the most forgiving option in a household with children.

Blue Antique sits £96 above the cheapest granite we fit and £333 below the dearest, so it is mid-range within its own material rather than at either end. Nothing else we fit is priced at exactly this rate, so comparing it is a matter of material rather than of matching a number. Within its own grey group Blue Antique is the 7th cheapest of 10.

9 other granite surfaces share its grey tone, Vancouver Sensa at £350, Taj Mahal Sensa at £400 and Colonial White Sensa at £200 among them. At a similar price you could have Dark Slate Veined, a quartz at £220, which is a different material doing a different job for roughly the same money.

Lead times lengthen here. Fewer slabs of a given stone come through, and if the one you want is not on the floor the honest answer is that the fitting date moves rather than the stone being substituted.

The photograph above is indicative. Screens shift colour, and granite varies slab to slab, so your piece will not be identical to this image. We hold offcuts of the Worktop Worx quartz collection only, so we cannot post you a piece of this one. It is ordered in by the slab, and the slab is what you would be shown before anything is cut.

If you choose it

What happens after you pick a colour

  1. A written quote

Send the sizes, a plan or a few photographs. A person prices it and itemises every piece, cut-out and edge.

  2. The template visit

Two to three hours for a typical kitchen. We digitally template every run, record wall run-out, unit heights and appliance positions, agree with you where the joins will fall and where the tap holes and drainer grooves go, and confirm the edge profile.

  3. Fitted in 5–10 working days

Blue Antique is cut to that template and fitted 5 to 10 working days from template, with a 5-year workmanship guarantee.

Before you commit

What you pay, and when you can still change your mind

Nothing to see the price

The survey and the written quote cost nothing and carry no deposit. A deposit is taken when you accept and book the template, and the balance is due before installation. Every cut-out, edge and join is priced on its own line.

Cancel before the template

Up to the template visit you can cancel and we refund the deposit less anything already spent reserving material. After it, the stone is cut to your kitchen and cannot be put back, which is why we template rather than work from your measurements. Read the terms

Something to show them

If someone else has to agree, the quote is itemised so it can be read line by line by whoever is checking it, and we can arrange to show you the actual slab before it is cut. What the guarantees cover

Granite

Why you would choose granite

Granite is quarried natural stone: every slab is different, heat off the hob is a non-issue, and it needs sealing periodically.

Most of what we fit is 20mm or 30mm. Where you want a chunkier look, we mitre the edge (a 20mm slab folded down to give a 40mm or 60mm apron), which reads as solid stone without the weight or cost of a genuinely thick slab.
