Is it right for you

What Azul Aran suits

The supply rate for Azul Aran is £206 per square metre, putting it 32nd of 45 among the granite we stock. The median granite here is £177, so Azul Aran sits £29 above the middle of its own range. The next step down in granite is Siberia Sensa at £200, and the next up is Blue Antique at £217.

It suits somebody who wants a real piece of stone and accepts what comes with it: variation, a sealer, and no guarantee the next slab looks like the one in the yard. Plenty of people want exactly that.

Put against its own material, Azul Aran clears the cheapest granite by £85 and stops £344 short of the dearest. Nothing else we fit is priced at exactly this rate, so comparing it is a matter of material rather than of matching a number.

We have not recorded a colour tone for this one, so it will not show under a tone filter. We would rather leave that blank than guess it from a catalogue photograph. For about the same outlay there is Midnight Strata at £210 in quartz, so the money is not what separates them.

At this band the stone starts to be chosen for its movement, which means where each piece is cut from the slab matters. That is a template decision and it wants making with the slab in front of you.

The photograph above is indicative. Screens shift colour, and granite varies slab to slab, so your piece will not be identical to this image. We hold offcuts of the Worktop Worx quartz collection only, so we cannot post you a piece of this one. It is ordered in by the slab, and the slab is what you would be shown before anything is cut.

What happens after you pick a colour

  1. A written quote

Send the sizes, a plan or a few photographs. A person prices it and itemises every piece, cut-out and edge.

  2. The template visit

Two to three hours for a typical kitchen. We digitally template every run, record wall run-out, unit heights and appliance positions, agree with you where the joins will fall and where the tap holes and drainer grooves go, and confirm the edge profile.

  3. Fitted in 5–10 working days

Azul Aran is cut to that template and fitted 5 to 10 working days from template, with a 5-year workmanship guarantee.

Before you commit

What you pay, and when you can still change your mind

Nothing to see the price

The survey and the written quote cost nothing and carry no deposit. A deposit is taken when you accept and book the template, and the balance is due before installation. Every cut-out, edge and join is priced on its own line.

Cancel before the template

Up to the template visit you can cancel and we refund the deposit less anything already spent reserving material. After it, the stone is cut to your kitchen and cannot be put back, which is why we template rather than work from your measurements. Read the terms

Something to show them

If someone else has to agree, the quote is itemised so it can be read line by line by whoever is checking it, and we can arrange to show you the actual slab before it is cut. What the guarantees cover

Granite

Why you would choose granite

Granite is quarried natural stone: every slab is different, heat off the hob is a non-issue, and it needs sealing periodically.

Most of what we fit is 20mm or 30mm. Where you want a chunkier look, we mitre the edge (a 20mm slab folded down to give a 40mm or 60mm apron), which reads as solid stone without the weight or cost of a genuinely thick slab.
