Honestly, no, though it would be easy to claim otherwise. What the research on this patch actually lists is worktop installation and worktop replacement. The workshop works from the approved drawing, so whoever signs it off is signing off the join positions too. Appliance changes after nesting are a new piece.

Upstand or splashback, the stone is cut from the same slab run as the worktop, at the same time, so the batch actually matches. A full-height piece shows a wall that is out more than an upstand does, over the extra height. Ordered later from a different batch, the match is not reliable where the two pieces meet. The kitchen is a narrow room off the hall with the window at the far end, so the run is a galley by construction rather than by choice. The notch around a boxed stack is machined with a radius, because a square internal corner there is where a top fails. What leaves the bench is what fits the room.

An external stair, a side return or a rear garden counts as carry and is measured the same way. A join added to get stone into the room is a different thing from a join added because the slab ran out, and the quote says which is which. A rated load sounds ample until three lengths of granite and two fitters are standing on it, so the stone goes up one piece at a time. Getting that wrong leaves a finished, machined piece that cannot reach the room, which is a remake rather than a trim. Machining happens after the carry length is fixed, not before.

Bleach and limescale remover harm a polished finish rather than clean it, whichever material is on the units. No maintenance visit is built into the job. Soap, water, and on the porous stones a seal. Where a top takes wine, oil and lemon most days, the non-porous materials ask least of the household. Panel joints run vertically down the walls at regular centres and each one is a slight step rather than a smooth curve. If the sink or hob changes after the template, the drawing changes first and nothing is cut meanwhile. The tap hole is drilled in the workshop too, and its position depends on how far the tap has to swing. We seat and seal the sink and hob on the day; water, waste, gas and electrics are for your plumber and electrician. Two runs of similar length nest as a pair off one slab, and if one of them grows by a few hundred millimetres the pair stops fitting and the yield changes for both. A join that lands in the wrong place cannot be moved once the cut-outs are machined, so it is settled on the drawing. The return is nested first, because it fits worst.
