Changing an appliance after the nest is set means recutting the piece, not adjusting it. Cutouts are checked against the actual appliances, whoever bought them.

The quote is written from the template drawing. Before that it works from what you have described. What moves the figure after templating is a change you make: a different edge, an extra cut-out, a bigger sink chosen late. Plumbing, gas and electrical work are not in the figure, because we do not do them. The stone carries the scribe because the wall cannot be persuaded, so back edges are cut oversize and eased in rather than dropped straight down. Slabs come in finite sizes, so a long run needs a join whatever the room looks like. A peninsula projects into circulation space, so its outer corners usually take a radius rather than a point, and that radius is agreed at template rather than assumed. A join that lands in the wrong place cannot be moved once the cut-outs are machined, so it is settled on the drawing. Yield is worked on the slab, not on a calculator.

The template produces a drawing, and the workshop cuts to that drawing once you agree it. The fit follows 5 to 10 working days after the template, and nothing is cut before that visit because nothing is cut from a plan. No money is taken before the template happens. The rear wall of the addition carries both the back door and the window, which leaves very little unbroken wall for a run to sit against. All of that is settled at the nesting stage, because a machined piece cannot be adjusted afterwards. Nothing is machined until the drawing matches the building.

The workmanship guarantee is the same either way. It does not extend to a material we did not supply. Templating, fabrication and fitting are the same three lines whether the stone came from us or from you. An open-plan extension puts the worktop in the middle of the living space, so it is looked at from the sofa as well as worked on. Pieces are dry-assembled and checked on the bench before anything is loaded. The spares are cut while the slab is still open.
