Yes. Elephant and Castle is on the patch, and the postcodes we work here are SE1, SE17. It is worked on our south east London run, along with the rest of Southwark. A red route means no stopping, and no stopping means exactly that, so the stone comes in from a side street or from a bay behind the property. Walls in the system-built blocks are concrete or panel and can bow noticeably over the length of a run, so the template picks up the real line and we cut the back edge to follow it rather than trimming on site with a grinder. Every join over a gable, clear of every cut-out. Old block kitchens are so tight that a 3m slab cannot be turned in the hall - measure the doorway swing before promising a single piece.

Major junction and gyratory with red routes on the approaches, so vans get pushed onto side streets; new blocks have booked lifts, old blocks have a single lift per core serving a lot of flats. Piece length is set by the internal diagonal of the lift car, not by the length of the slab. Getting that wrong leaves a finished, machined piece that cannot reach the room, which is a remake rather than a trim. It is settled on the bench, not on site.

The nest is laid out around that, with joins placed over cabinet gables and kept clear of every cut-out. That is nested before any glass goes on the saw. Material is £110-£550 per square metre supply only, and templating, fabrication and fitting are quoted on their own lines.

Anything that has to stay accessible, a stopcock, a gas meter, a riser panel, is marked on the template so the stone is cut around it instead of over it. The template drawing carries the real geometry through to the saw, and the piece is machined to it rather than trimmed to it later. Machined to the real line. The stack boxing needs to be in its final form and the sink and hob on site before we machine, since a boxing that gets re-clad afterwards throws the notch out. Where a landlord or housing provider is involved there is a specification to meet and a process to follow, and both are settled before a date is offered. Changing an appliance after the nest is set means recutting the piece, not adjusting it. Dry-assembled before it leaves.
