Worktop design and quotation in Uxbridge
Priced from your plans or the kitchen as it stands, with every cut-out, edge and join on its own line.
Uxbridge kitchens
What the kitchens here are actually like
The kitchen normally sits in the back addition or a later side return, which puts the run against the oldest and least straight wall in the building. Two kitchens of the same floor area price very differently for exactly these reasons, and the quote should show you which one you have. Itemised, and nothing payable until we template.
Town-centre flats and student-let conversions with runs of 2m to 3m sit alongside 1930s semis on the outer streets where the kitchen has been opened into the dining room for a 4.5m L. Mid-market specs, quartz over granite.
The outer residential streets are easy with drives on most houses. Inside the ring road you have a one-way system and a pedestrianised High Street with timed loading only. Anything inside the ring road needs an early-morning loading slot booked before the pedestrian zone closes to vehicles for the day.
The bay at the front and the back addition at the rear were built to different standards, and the kitchen is nearly always in the weaker of the two. The kitchen is usually a long galley in a rear extension or side return, so the run lengths are the first thing we check against slab length — anything beyond roughly three metres either needs a join or a second slab, and that decision alone moves the material figure more than a few extra square metres would. Priced from the building, not from a rate card.
The stock behind these kitchens runs to Victorian terrace, Edwardian terrace, 1930s semi, town-centre apartment and student let. They are not interchangeable, and a worktop finds the differences quickly.
True everywhere
Worktop design and quotation, in short
- Material is £110–£550/m² supply. That is the slab only.
- Templating, fabrication and fitting are quoted as their own lines.
- No installed price per square metre is published, because it is not a real number.
- Nothing is payable until we template.
Covered from the High Wycombe patch. Fitted 3–7 working days from template.

The shape of the run
Two runs meeting at an internal corner is the most common shape we fit, and the corner is where the decisions are. Slab yield is worked out at quote stage, so if the layout forces a second slab you hear it before you commit rather than after. The join count is stated with its reason.

What gets asked for here
Honestly, this is not what we do most on this patch. Worktop replacement, worktop installation and worktop templating come up more often. That is a statement about the local housing rather than about the work, and nothing about how it is quoted, cut or fitted changes because of it.

Getting stone into a Uxbridge kitchen
Inside the ring road you have a one-way system and a pedestrianised High Street with timed loading only. The outer residential streets are easy with drives on most houses.
Tell us what the approach looks like when you book the template and it gets built into the day rather than discovered on it. Where the route is genuinely tight, it changes how the pieces are cut, which is a fabrication decision rather than a delivery one.
3–7 working days
From template to fitted, working days from template. The same on this patch as every other.

Questions
Worktop design & quotation in Uxbridge
If yours is not here, ring and ask. You get a straight answer rather than a call-back from a salesperson.
Do you actually work in Uxbridge, or just list it?
Yes. Uxbridge is on the patch, and the postcodes we work here are UB8. It is run from the High Wycombe side, covering Buckinghamshire & Berkshire. A front drive is the best thing that can happen to a fitting day, because the tail lift comes down within a few metres of the door and nothing is on a clock. It sits in the fitting line as time on site rather than as anything to do with the stone. Nothing here is added after the fact. We template in your kitchen and fit in your kitchen, so there is nothing to visit and nothing to collect.
What is different about worktop design & quotation in Uxbridge?
Deep original skirting is often left in behind the units, standing them off the wall, so the back edge of the stone is plotted where the carcasses actually sit. The second thing is the carry route: front door, narrow hall, a turn at the stairs and often a step down into the extension, which can mean a piece that would template in one length has to be split to physically get into the room. That is what the itemised lines are for. Anything inside the ring road needs an early-morning loading slot booked before the pedestrian zone closes to vehicles for the day.
Is access a problem in Uxbridge?
Inside the ring road you have a one-way system and a pedestrianised High Street with timed loading only. The outer residential streets are easy with drives on most houses. A short hard approach with no steps means a full-length piece can be walked in flat by two people rather than turned up on edge. That is why the fitting line on a quote reflects manpower and time rather than square metres. It appears as its own line rather than buried in a rate. Tell us what the approach looks like when you book the template and it gets built into the day rather than discovered on it.
Do you get much worktop design & quotation work in Uxbridge?
Not particularly, and it would be easy to pretend otherwise. What the research on this patch actually lists is worktop replacement, worktop installation and worktop templating. That is a statement about the local housing rather than about the work. It is quoted, cut and fitted exactly the same way here as anywhere else on the patch. Small kitchens in a shared house are all short runs and tight cut-out spacing, which is more bench work per square metre than one large kitchen would be. That changes what the quote should be compared against, because the shape of the job is not the same as a single family kitchen. Nothing payable until we template. A licensed shared house has fire-door and escape-route rules that decide how and when stone can be carried through the common parts. Everything is itemised: material, template, fabrication, fitting, each cut-out and each metre of upstand. Itemised, so it can be compared honestly.
What decides the price of a worktop in Uxbridge?
An L can be mitred at the corner for a continuous look or butt-jointed over the gable, and the two are different money and different risk. Each run is priced on its own line against the supply rate, with the join count and the reason for each join stated. No installed rate per square metre, because it is not a real number. Material is £110-£550 per square metre supply only, and templating, fabrication and fitting are quoted on their own lines.
What do I need to sort out first?
Walls that bow along their length are the normal condition rather than the exception, and a straight-cut back edge will show a shadow gap at one end and touch at the other. This is the item most often left out of a cheaper quote, and it comes back as a variation once the templater has been. Priced as fabrication, not as area. Send us the run lengths, plus photos taken walking from the pavement through the hall to the kitchen so we can see the door widths and the stair turn. Access in a tenanted flat depends on the tenant, so the template and fitting dates are agreed with whoever actually holds the keys. Material is quoted as a supply range and the labour lines separately, because an installed rate per square metre is not a real number. Written to be read by whoever is paying.
