Made to order · cut to your kitchen, fitted 5–10 working days from template
Aurea Stone is a marble-effect sintered stone worktop from the Karexa range, supplied at £280 per square metre (supply only) and templated, cut and fitted by our own team 5 to 10 working days from template.
Is it right for you
Supply only, Aurea Stone runs £280 per square metre. That is 40th out of the 71 sintered stone surfaces on the list. That is £19 above the £261 median for the family, so it is a dearer choice within its own material rather than across the catalogue. The next sintered stone down in price is Ceppo at £265.
The thin slab lets a veined top run as a slim edge, which is the detail that makes a marble look convincing rather than chunky. It also means the vein has to be aligned down the mitre.
Aurea Stone costs £170 more than the cheapest sintered stone we fit and £86 less than the dearest. 8 other surfaces share the £280 rate: 3 quartz and 5 Karexa sintered stone. Aurea Stone is 2nd by price among the 13 marble surfaces in this material.
12 other sintered stone surfaces share its marble tone, Aurelia at £280, Black Laurent at £280 and Calacatta Alba at £280 among them. At a similar price you could have Imperial Gold Vein, a quartz at £280, which is a different material doing a different job for roughly the same money.
This band makes sense when the worktop is standing in for something quarried and has to hold up close. It makes very little sense on a run that is mostly hidden behind an oven and a sink.
The photograph above is indicative. Screens shift colour, and batches vary, so a slab can read warmer or cooler than an image suggests. We hold offcuts of the Worktop Worx quartz collection only, so we cannot post you a piece of this one. It is ordered in by the slab, and the slab is what you would be shown before anything is cut.

Supply cost
At £280/m² supply, the slab for the 2.82 m² L-shape on our layout costing comes to about £790, and the 4.44 m² L-shape with an island about £1,243.
| Layout | Area | Supply at £280/m² |
|---|---|---|
| Single run 3.6m | 2.16 m² | £605 |
| L-shape | 2.82 m² | £790 |
| Galley | 3.60 m² | £1,008 |
| U-shape | 3.72 m² | £1,042 |
| L-shape + island | 4.44 m² | £1,243 |
Supply only: the slab at the published rate. Templating, fabrication, edges, cut-outs, delivery and fitting are quoted on top, itemised. Stone is bought by the slab, so a layout that needs a second slab steps up rather than scaling by area.

If you choose it
Send the sizes, a plan or a few photographs. A person prices it and itemises every piece, cut-out and edge.
Two to three hours for a typical kitchen. We digitally template every run, record wall run-out, unit heights and appliance positions, agree with you where the joins will fall and where the tap holes and drainer grooves go, and confirm the edge profile.
Aurea Stone is cut to that template and fitted 5 to 10 working days from template, with a 5-year workmanship guarantee.
Before you commit
The survey and the written quote cost nothing and carry no deposit. Your written quote states when the deposit falls due, and the balance is due before installation. Every cut-out, edge and join is priced on its own line.
Up to the template visit you can cancel and we refund any deposit paid, less anything already spent reserving material. After it, the stone is cut to your kitchen and cannot be put back, which is why we template rather than work from your measurements. Read the terms
If someone else has to agree, the quote is itemised so it can be read line by line by whoever is checking it, and we can arrange to show you the actual slab before it is cut. What the guarantees cover
Questions
£280 per square metre, supply only. At that rate the slab for a 2.82 m² L-shape comes to about £790 before fabrication and fitting, which are quoted itemised. That puts Aurea Stone 40th of the 71 sintered stone surfaces we fit, counting up from the cheapest, against a sintered stone median of £261.
No, Aurea Stone never needs sealing. Sintered stone has effectively zero porosity, so there is nothing to reapply.
Yes. There is no resin in sintered stone, so nothing in it can scorch and a hot pan straight off the hob does it no harm.
We post samples of the Worktop Worx quartz collection only, so there is no posted sample of Aurea Stone; ask when you request a quote and we will tell you how to see the stone.
5–10 working days from template. We template once your base units are fitted and level, cut Aurea Stone to that template and fit it, with a 5-year workmanship guarantee and a 25-year material warranty.
Aurea Stone is part of Karexa, our own range of sintered stone; it is not a Cosentino product. Cosentino sells its sintered stone under its own name, and the two are the same kind of material: mineral powders compacted under very high pressure and fired, with no resin in them.

Worth comparing two or three before you settle, because the same room can take a much darker or much busier surface than a photograph suggests.

Sintered stone
Sintered stone is the most durable of the three: highly scratch and heat resistant, and thin enough to take a fine mitred edge.
The standard thicknesses are 20mm and 30mm. Where you want a chunkier look, we mitre the edge (a 20mm slab folded down to give a 40mm or 60mm apron), which reads as solid stone without the weight or cost of a genuinely thick slab.
Nothing in it can scorch.
Liquids sit on the surface.
No sealant schedule, ever.

Thin enough to take a crisp mitre.
