Is it right for you

What Aurelia suits

The supply rate for Aurelia is £280 per square metre, putting it 41st of 71 among the sintered stone we stock. The median sintered stone here is £261, so Aurelia sits £19 above the middle of its own range.

It suits somebody who wants a veined kitchen that gets used hard, and it will not satisfy anybody who cares that the stone is real. Both of those are fair positions and worth settling before ordering.

Put against its own material, Aurelia clears the cheapest sintered stone by £170 and stops £86 short of the dearest. 8 other surfaces share the £280 rate: 3 quartz and 5 Karexa sintered stone. Within its own marble group Aurelia is the 2nd cheapest of 13.

12 other sintered stone surfaces share its marble tone, Bergen at £360, Aurea Stone at £280 and Black Laurent at £280 among them. The nearest thing to it in another material is Calacatta Viola at £280, a quartz, and the choice between them is about behaviour rather than budget.

The dearer patterns are more likely to be brought in to order rather than held, so ask about the lead time before the kitchen date is set rather than after.

The photograph above is indicative. Screens shift colour, and batches vary, so a slab can read warmer or cooler than an image suggests. We hold offcuts of the Worktop Worx quartz collection only, so we cannot post you a piece of this one. It is ordered in by the slab, and the slab is what you would be shown before anything is cut.

Supply cost

What Aurelia costs for a typical kitchen

At £280/m² supply, the slab for the 2.82 m² L-shape on our layout costing comes to about £790, and the 4.44 m² L-shape with an island about £1,243.

If you choose it

What happens after you pick a colour

  1. A written quote

Send the sizes, a plan or a few photographs. A person prices it and itemises every piece, cut-out and edge.

  2. The template visit

Two to three hours for a typical kitchen. We digitally template every run, record wall run-out, unit heights and appliance positions, agree with you where the joins will fall and where the tap holes and drainer grooves go, and confirm the edge profile.

  3. Fitted in 5–10 working days

Aurelia is cut to that template and fitted 5 to 10 working days from template, with a 5-year workmanship guarantee.

Before you commit

What you pay, and when you can still change your mind

Nothing to see the price

The survey and the written quote cost nothing and carry no deposit. Your written quote states when the deposit falls due, and the balance is due before installation. Every cut-out, edge and join is priced on its own line.

Cancel before the template

Up to the template visit you can cancel and we refund any deposit paid, less anything already spent reserving material. After it, the stone is cut to your kitchen and cannot be put back, which is why we template rather than work from your measurements. Read the terms

Something to show them

If someone else has to agree, the quote is itemised so it can be read line by line by whoever is checking it, and we can arrange to show you the actual slab before it is cut. What the guarantees cover

Questions

Aurelia worktop questions

01

How much is an Aurelia sintered stone worktop?

£280 per square metre, supply only. At that rate the slab for a 2.82 m² L-shape comes to about £790 before fabrication and fitting, which are quoted itemised. That puts Aurelia 41st of the 71 sintered stone surfaces we fit, counting up from the cheapest, against a sintered stone median of £261.

02

Does Aurelia need sealing?

No, Aurelia never needs sealing. Sintered stone has effectively zero porosity, so there is nothing to reapply.

03

Can I put a hot pan on Aurelia?

Yes. There is no resin in sintered stone, so nothing in it can scorch and a hot pan straight off the hob does it no harm.

04

Can I get a sample of Aurelia?

We post samples of the Worktop Worx quartz collection only, so there is no posted sample of Aurelia; ask when you request a quote and we will tell you how to see the stone.

05

How long does Aurelia take to fit?

5–10 working days from template. We template once your base units are fitted and level, cut Aurelia to that template and fit it, with a 5-year workmanship guarantee and a 25-year material warranty.

06

Who makes Aurelia, and is it a Cosentino stone?

Aurelia is part of Karexa, our own range of sintered stone; it is not a Cosentino product. Cosentino sells its sintered stone under its own name, and the two are the same kind of material: mineral powders compacted under very high pressure and fired, with no resin in them.

Sintered stone

Why you would choose sintered stone

Sintered stone is the most durable of the three: highly scratch and heat resistant, and thin enough to take a fine mitred edge.

The standard thicknesses are 20mm and 30mm. Where you want a chunkier look, we mitre the edge (a 20mm slab folded down to give a 40mm or 60mm apron), which reads as solid stone without the weight or cost of a genuinely thick slab.
