We do not price vanity tops in Harold Park without seeing the kitchen first, and the reason for that is in the rooms themselves. A low-density pocket towards the Essex boundary with a lot of single-storey and heavily altered houses, many of them originally modest bungalows that have been extended, raised or replaced. Kitchens are consequently all different sizes and shapes, often with a wide side extension giving an unusually broad, shallow room best suited to two facing runs. You will get a firm figure for your Harold Park kitchen once it has been templated, and that figure does not move afterwards.
A shallow bay or a squared-off rear window means the run beneath it is rarely the same depth at both ends. What that does to a vanity is push the whole job into a narrow depth, because a bathroom takes the same stone as a kitchen in about two thirds of the width. A bathroom top is drawn from the fitted unit, never from a plan.
Bungalow kitchens are frequently extended into the rear or opened into the roof space, so the room is part original and part new build. The original bathroom in these houses is the small room over the hall, and a vanity in it is short, shallow and hard against a wall at each end, so both ends are scribed and there is no tolerance left between them. Stud partitions want noggins before a wall-hung unit goes up.
What the rooms sit inside, mostly, is inter-war plotland bungalow, 1930s semi, post-war detached and modern replacement house. Each carries its own carry problem before it carries a worktop.
