Bathroom worktop fitting in South Chingford tends to go wrong in the planning rather than in the fitting, and planning it properly means starting from the building. Predominantly semis with a rear kitchen of about 2.6m by 2.6m, a side door to the passage and a separate dining room, most commonly opened up into a single L-shaped room. Boilers are usually still kitchen-mounted and are worked around rather than moved. If you are not sure, say so when you get in touch. It is a normal answer and we work with it.
Two runs and a return into a rear extension is the pattern, and the return is the piece that never nests neatly on a slab. What that does to a vanity is push the whole job into a narrow depth, because a bathroom takes the same stone as a kitchen in about two thirds of the width. Basin, tap holes and splash return inside a few hundred millimetres.
The pantry was a half-brick enclosure in the corner of the room, and where it has been taken out the wall behind it is made good brickwork rather than original plaster. Half-tiled walls are the pattern in these houses, and the tile line is what a splash return has to meet, which is settled before the top is drawn rather than after. Concrete walls take a bracket well and a chase badly.
What we find behind the front doors here is 1930s semi-detached, post-war council-built house and interwar terrace. What is behind the plaster is different in each, and it matters at fixing.
