Pricing vanity tops in South Croydon has less to do with the postcode than with what the kitchen turns out to be once someone has measured it. Along the Brighton Road corridor the large villas are mostly flats with kitchens fitted into former reception rooms, so runs are long but interrupted by chimney breasts and cornice returns. Up the hill the 1930s semis are conventional family kitchens with rear extensions. If you are not sure, say so when you get in touch. It is a normal answer and we work with it.
Walls that are old, thick and rarely straight make dry-laying and scribing the bulk of the day. Ventilation, heating and lighting all compete for the same short stretch of wall, so by the time the surface is drawn the room has already been argued over once. Nothing about a vanity is standard except the depth of the unit.
A large villa has wide doors, a generous hall and somewhere to park, so the joins that go in are chosen for layout rather than forced by the route. Bathrooms in houses this size are big enough for a double vanity, and a top with two basins and several tap holes is a worktop by any other measure. Half tiling leaves a line the splash return has to meet.
The stock on this patch is Victorian villa, Edwardian terrace, villa converted to flats and 1930s semi. Which of those you have decides most of what follows.
