The single biggest variable in what bathroom worktop fitting costs in Maryland is not the material you pick but the room you are asking it to fit. Small two-bed terraces with the kitchen in a narrow rear addition, generally 2.2m to 2.8m in an L with the back door at the end of the run. A good number are split into upper and lower flats, so kitchens end up in odd rooms with services run along the wall. It is not your job to know which one it is. Ask for the survey and the measurements will tell us both.
There is usually a step down into the back addition, so the kitchen floor and the hall floor are not the same level and neither of them is flat. Cleaning is what a bathroom surface actually lives through, since limescale, bleach and whatever gets used on the mirror all end up on it sooner or later. Nothing about a vanity is standard except the depth of the unit.
A villa cut into flats leaves kitchens in rooms that were never kitchens, with services run to wherever they could physically be made to reach. The bathroom in one of these is almost never original: it is a later room over the back addition, or a bedroom divided in two. The bathroom in a house like this is rarely where it started.
The mix here is Victorian terrace, flat over shop and small recent apartment block. Knowing which one it is before we arrive is half the survey done.
