What makes bathroom worktop fitting in Rainham worth thinking about properly is that the same worktop behaves very differently depending on what it is being fitted around. Three layers in one place: a small historic village centre where kitchens are constrained and period-sensitive, inter-war and post-war family housing where the job is opening the kitchen into the dining room, and new riverside developments where compact open-plan kitchens get an early upgrade from the developer's laminate. Run lengths in the new-build flats are short, typically 2.4-3m in an L. If your kitchen is a bit of both, that is common enough and it changes nothing about how we go about it.
The kitchen is nearly always in a later rear or side extension, so half the room is a century older than the other half and the two meet mid-run. Humidity is the difference nobody mentions, because a room that fills with steam twice a day treats sealant, grout and every joint in it far harder than a kitchen ever does. Shelves and a window board come off the same offcut.
These have been added to over two centuries, so the kitchen is made of two or three walls of different ages and different thicknesses. A freestanding bath in the middle of the room pushes the vanity to a wall and often under a window, so the window board is drawn with the top. Boarded floors give, and a vanity shows it at the tile line.
The housing behind these kitchens is Georgian and older village core, 1930s semi, post-war council house and 2010s-2020s riverside new-build. They are not interchangeable, and a worktop finds the differences quickly.
