What Harbourfront Stone suits
Quartz is the safe choice for a busy family kitchen. It is non-porous, so wine, oil and turmeric wipe off rather than soak in, and it never needs sealing. It is also consistent, so an island and a perimeter run cut months apart will still match.
Mid greys are the most forgiving colour in a working kitchen. Dust, crumbs and water spots all disappear into them, and they sit happily against almost any cabinet colour.
Two things will damage it: a hot pan straight off the hob, and long-term direct sunlight, which yellows the resin unevenly. If either describes your kitchen, look at granite or sintered stone instead.
The photograph above is indicative. Screens shift colour, and batches vary, so a slab can read warmer or cooler than an image suggests. A free sample under your own lighting settles it in a way no photograph can.
