The waste position is fixed before the aperture is drawn. Confirm what is behind the board where the unit hangs, and send the goods lift and door dimensions if the pieces include shelving. Nobody reseals a worktop annually in a let property, so a material that depends on being resealed is the wrong specification however well it photographs. Who is paying decides the material here more than anywhere else, because a vanity is small enough that an expensive stone stops being an expensive decision. Toiletries do more to a bathroom top than water ever will.

The same firm templates and fits. Nobody else is brought in to install. The fit follows 5 to 10 working days after the template, and nothing is cut before that visit because nothing is cut from a plan. Unrestricted does not mean empty, and a street that is clear at seven is usually full by nine. A bathroom booked on its own rarely fills a day, so it can be put into whichever part of the day the street is easiest. The plumber and the van rarely want the street on the same day.

Machining is permanent. If a later kitchen moves the sink, the grooves stay where they were cut. The bowl position has to be settled before templating, since the grooves are set out from it. A groove set needs a clear stretch of worktop beside the bowl, so it competes with the run for length instead of being free surface. Exposed brick and steel is the whole job here, because neither of them presents a flat plane to scribe to. A vanity top is where all of that turns up in miniature, with the basin, the tap holes and a splash return crowded into a few hundred millimetres of stone. The tap decides the drilling, so the tap is settled first.

Sealing is the one maintenance job that genuinely differs by material, and it is worth knowing which you are buying before the slab is chosen. Topping a seal up is a wipe-on job with a cloth. Quartz carries resin, so a hot pan wants a trivet, while granite and sintered stone will take one without complaint. Windows are large industrial openings with deep sills, and a run finishing at one meets a reveal a full brick deep. That makes the template straightforward and moves the work onto the services, which run exposed or in boxing along a wall and get notched round rather than cut back. The bathroom in a house like this is rarely where it started.
